We have only microprocessor based circuit board that controls every aspect of our grills operation from the ignition, to the ramp
up to the desired temperature, to the maintenance of temperature and the production of optimum smoke. Our
grill circuit board consists of both hardware and software (which is embedded
on the microprocessor).
People always ask if this
makes it difficult to use. On the contrary it makes it possible to have
perfect results every time.
When you turn the knob to
start the grill, the processor measures the temperature of the firepot to
determine if it is lit or not. If the temperature of the thermocouple in the firepot is less than 150 degrees, the grill goes
into its lighting cycle which runs the auger and fan at a higher rate of speed
and turns on the igniter cartridge. Power is cycled on and off to the
igniter cartridge to prevent it from burning out (a common problem with
igniters). It goes through this cycle 6 times and if there is no ignition
it returns a message on the L.E.D. readout indicating that there are no pellets in
the hopper and an audible alarm is sounded.
If the temperature in the
firepot fails to reach 200 degrees during these cycles an error code is displayed
indicating a bad igniter cartridge.
Once the grill ignites, it then goes into a ramp up mode which brings the grill up to the selected temperature
rapidly. Once the desired temperature is reached the computer switches to a maintenance
mode which provides optimal fuel/air mixture to provide the best smoke that will
compliment the selected temperature. There is a built in meat probe which will measure the temperature of the meat and
display it on the L.E.D. when the appropriate button is held down.
The selected temperature is
displayed on the L.E.D. readout and will be maintained during your cooking session.
In the event that you run
out of pellets during a cooking cycle, the grill will attempt to reignite itself 6 times
after which if fuel is not replenished and audible alarm will sound and the
grill will shutdown automatically.
In the event of a fan
failure or auger motor failure, an error code will be displayed on the
L.E.D. All components are user serviceable and we will cross ship you a
component to replace any part that may faiil.
The next version of our
software will include the ability to capture, save and download a cooking cycle into your grill using your laptop computer plus the ability to preset the desired finished meat temperature and have the grill shut off automatically when the desired temperature is reached.
This is the simplest grill
in the world to use and the results are always incredible. Top this off
with the fact that it is also a gas grill, and that it is made of heavy gauge
stainless steel, and you have what we believe is the best, most versatile grill
on the market.
You
can sear a steak, finish it off with mesquite, cook a brisket for 18 hours, or
bake a wood fired pizza all on the same grill.
